Denver Capitol Hill Quilt Show

I caught the train in to downtown Denver today to go to the Capitol Building and the Central Library for the biannual quilt show. Here are some of the amazing quilts, there were 270 in all.

I liked this cat because on the weekend I spent some time planning a similar quilt of my dogs!

The Capitol Building was a great venue but my neck is a little sore from looking up for 2hrs.

I LOVE crazy quilts!

There were 3 levels of the Capitol Building with quilts hung in every nook and cranny, as well as 30 quilts in the library.

This was one of my favorite quilts all half square triangles except for the border and the back even has a few rows of HSTs too. Very pretty and lots of hard work!

I love the color arrangement in this one

Then I went across the road to Capitol Books a used book store, two of my favorite things in one day... used books and a quilt show! What a day:)

Then I walked back to the 16th street mall via Civic Center Park:

I also stopped in at the Tattered Cover book store in the Mall and bought 'Tula Pinks City Sampler 100 Modern Quilt Blocks' book. I can't wait to start making some blocks out of that book!!!!
