Half Hexie Quilt along - cutting done

In between other things I have been busily cutting brown half hexagons ready for the QAL over at : http://helpinglittlehands.blogspot.com/2013/07/hexies-by-halves-quilt-along-lesson-2.html

I am loving my colors, I chose a brown palette and about half of the fabrics were from my stash.
I decided to use my 60 degree diamond template to get the 60 degrees necessary during the cutting phase, it seemed to work well and made the process of cutting 90 half hexagons and 18 row end partial half hexagons a little faster and easier than anticipated.

I was supposed to cut 84 halves and 30 partial halves for the ends but once I see where she is going with the setting of this quilt I will choose some half hexagons to cut in half as row ends. That should mean I have exactly the right quantity, but leaving some partials as halves allows me flexibility with layout.

Some of my favorites from this quilt

All cut and ready for the next lesson to be uploaded

The problem with awaiting a QAL lesson upload each week is that inevitably the project gets relegated to a 'later' tub under the cutting table, which for a pile of fabric must be a scary place to be, who knows when they will next get their chance to shine!
