Batting and other stuff...

This morning I got my scrappy quilt spray basted ready to FMQ sometime soo, I chose navy sashing because I had some to use up in my stash:

Last night at quilt club we had 'the batting lady' Merrie Jones come and talk, she bought us all samples:

That inspired me to sort out this stack of batting scraps that I had in the cupboard, they are all too small for quilts, but I have been saving them for 'other projects'!

I decided to cut them into squares for QAYG projects, I did 16, 10, 9, 7, 6, 5, 4 inch squares, so QAYG is ready to go!

I also cut three pieces to make mug rugs for the Mug rug swap I am participating in this month: http://quiltinggallery.com/quilters-fun/fall-mug-rugs-swap/

I also bought some stuff from Merrie, like Aurifil and batting tape:

And the thermal batting for pot holders etc:

Whilst at QC I was also to pick up the book for the BOM I am participating in at quilt club:

This month's block is the cabin it should be fun!
