New Fabric Friday

I got some new fabrics late in 2013 that I haven't had time to blog about, so here they are:

Whilst following the Quiltmaker Magazine 100 Blocks Volume 8 blog tour I won a copy of the magazine, but I had no idea until it turned up in the mail as a squishy package that there would be fabric with it!!!!! This fat eighth bundle of Moda's 'Shades of Black will make an awesome quilt!

I also got a $50 fat quarter shop voucher off my hubby for Christmas, when I logged on to spend it I went slightly over budget LOL! This wonderful fat quarter bundle was about $15, so that is $1.50 per FQ! I just had to throw that in :)

But the best thing about a voucher is you can buy the more expensive items you have tried to avoid! I love this box of end of bolt fabrics! It was $61 for about 20-25 yards (12 pounds) of end of bolt fabrics.
This is the FQS link for this product: http://www.fatquartershop.com/12-pound-fabric-grab-bag
There are about 86 different fabrics in here, no fabric is repeated and the lengths vary; some half a yard, some just a few inches that were left on the bolt. I AM IN HEAVEN! this is my kind of fabric purchase, i love to work with fabrics that i wouldn't necessarily choose myself, because it opens up a new world of fabric choices. And I love scrappy quilts, so even fabrics I don't love will find their way into a project one day.

This is what it looks like out of the box:

And here are some of my favorite fabrics from the pile:

I adore raindrops!

Bikes and dogs as well as a quilt shop, this fabric ROCKS!

I love any sewing themed fabric!

I adore novelty prints

A current WIP will have this incorporated as a border very soon!

Hubby loves cycling, so this will end up in a cycling quilt or cushion cover for him

And there were several great Christmas fabrics that I can't wait to cut, this is my favorite though!
