Colors outside my comfort zone

I decided it was time for me to try making a quilt in a fabric selection that was outside my comfort zone, so I went with what I call 'traditionals' these fabrics are not bright and the prints aren't modern, but they do look awesome in quilts.

This was made using two Moda 5" charm packs:

  • Dancing in the Rain
  • Wild Roses
I also used some yardage I had on hand in nuetral, navy and burgundy for the borders:

I had wanted to try a tumbler quilt for quite some time but the tumbler template I had was too small for my liking so I just used the angle of it to create a larger template that fits perfectly on a 5" charm square. I love simple geometric quilts and think I will make more of these tumbler quilts, it was fast, fun and easy.
