Blogiversary Linky

One year ago today I wrote my first blog post for this quilt blog!
Here is a link to that post: http://adventurousquilter.blogspot.com/2013/06/how-it-all-began.html
My quilting skills have come a long way in that 12 months and so has my stash... and my sewing machine collection! I took my first quilt classes, I've now done 5. I joined the Green Bag Lady Project. I found a favorite fabric shop http://www.woodenspools.com/ and also began buying fabric online oops that's dangerous for the credit card. I joined my first quilt club which is awesome. I made amazing quilting friends through blogging like http://tamichaulk.blogspot.com/ who got me interested in joining the Green Bag Lady Project and http://myplvl.blogspot.com/ with whom I swap fabrics and share experiences as we learn to quilt and blog together and there are many more. I discovered how fun thrift shopping can be and found soooo many great vintage sewing machines.

Here's just a couple of pics to show the year that was:

A memory quilt for the in-laws

scrappy improv to use up scraps

I fell in love with paper piecing

A tribute to my canine kids

I decided I adore simple geometric quilts

Hexagons! I love em but they are tedious to sew!

A chair bag cover and my treadle

The Craigslist fabric stash acquisition and wash-a-thon

Organizing the $50 Craigslist fabric was a big job it took about 3 days, I am still using fabric I bought that day!!!

Sometimes I feel like I am not achieving anything in the sewing room due to life's other distractions.... but apparently I am getting stuff done!

What have you achieved in the last 12 months?
