Lady of the Lake Finish!

I sewed along with many blogging quilters recently to try out the https://www.fatquartershop.com/  Lady of the Lake quilt block!

Here are links to my earlier posts showing this quilts progression.

And last weekend I finally found the time to quilt this beauty! I used this luscious Sulky yellow thread, it was perfect for this project :)

Simple meandering loops is my go-to quilting for lap quilts and its whimsical feel suited the yellow.

I backed it in a nice yellow Thimbleberries fabric that I bought from my favorite local quilt store https://www.woodenspools.com/ especially for this purpose because I don't have much yellow in my stash (especially not 3+ yards for a backing!)

I really love this block it is so quick and fun to make, look at those bright fresh HSTs!

I cracked open a new roll of Pellon 100% cotton batting for this one and it was fabulous. I had used a lot of 80/20 lately for charity quilts and how quickly you forget how supple 100% cotton can be!

I am so happy with this finish it's a terrific sized quilt! It'll be on my lap tonight when I am relaxing in front of the TV.

Thanks Fat Quarter Shop for the inspiration and block pattern :)
