Like many participants I am going to choose my own block and simply change the color each month to utilize scraps. But I am eager to watch her COLUMN pattern as other participants make it!! I designed this block recently and it kind of reminded me of a swoon block which made me wonder...
What it would look like in different colors:
I decided I wanted to try to make a quilt of rainbow stars like these.
So that is the block I have chosen! They'll be scrappy stars but colorful! I need to buy a background fabric to do this quilt justice but then I will try to use scraps and supplement with some stash as needed.
I love to play with scraps as evidenced by these all time favorite finishes of mine:
Broken Herringbone QAYG
Scrappy improv pieced double sided quilt
So this Challenge offered over at http://superscrappy.blogspot.com/ seems like the perfect fit for me this year.
I'll also make a monthly improv pieced block in the color of the RSC challenge because I had already started on a new improv pieced quilt before I decided to join the challenge, with this predominantly green block:
I am of course also hosting my own paper piecing BOM at http://adventurousquilter.yolasite.com/ and another one here: http://www.crqc.org/bom_and_challenges
So that'll keep me busy in amongst all my whimsical starts that become UFOs
