One of my goals for 2016 was to use a different FMQ design as my go to quick finish quilting style.
How am i going with that?
I've been meandering confidently for a couple of years now. So confidently it's too easy I'm stuck in a rut. It's too easy to do the lazy thing and meander. So this year I'm determined to do loops instead. It's not wildly different from meandering so it's a relatively easy transition but it's different and is PROGRESS lol
So here it is I've stuck to that commitment for every quilt finish so far this year:
It actually took some practice, more to get the layout and direction basics than the flow. But I'm loving the loops and am pleased I've chosen this goal :-)
These are the four charity quilts i completed recently using this quilting:
So it's quick, easy and reminds me of bubble blowing on a windy day so it's perfect for children's quilts.
But my favorite parts of the quilt making process are the design and piecing phases so my quilting is not my biggest priority and I'm happy with slow progress :-)
