I have two spray bottles on my pressing bench. One contains a 1:3 mixture of heavy starch and water the other one is only heavy starch. I use the water and starch mix any time. But the pure heavy starch I only use on completed blocks or quilt tops.
I'm not fussy about irons as long as they are hot! I love my vintage iron that I bought for retreats, it's the hottest iron I own.
And my hubby built my pressing bench a few years ago using an Ikea kallax/expedit shelf unit. It's sturdy and about 60" wide.
Quilters spend so much time pressing, it's important that we have a trusted setup to use 👌💗👏
