I've been hoarding some batik scraps. Doing something with them has been on my to-do list for 5+years. So I bought them with me to the temporary apartment we're currently living in until our repatriation to Australia in January.
Today I started improv piecing them into 5" scrappy squares:The little thrifted Bernina I'm sewing on whilst in the temporary apartment sews a great stitch but it's much slower than the Juki I usually sew with. I really miss my knee lift and auto thread cutter.
I've started a couple of dozen improv blocks at least:
But despite the slow pace, it's great to be able to sew for the next few months!
