Anyone who has had to move their sewing studio knows that having the right storage available to unpack into is vital. I always knew downsizing my studio size would come with some issues so initially I invested in 3 Ikea Bror shelving units:
They are terrific and hold a LOT of stuff including my antique sewing machine collection:But I still had a messy studio once I unpacked. So I held off putting my design wall up on this empty wall because I was considering buying three Ikea Billy Bookcases:I finally decided last week that I truly needed the extra shelving space! So I invested in a portable design wall which I ordered from Amazon, it will arrive later this month:
Cheryl Ann's Design Wall
The plan is to hang or stand it across the front of the Billy Bookcases. That way I get the extra shelving and a design wall. It was the costly option but I think it will be worth the investment in the long run.
Today my Billy Bookcases arrive and I can finally begin to get organized. I have spent all morning moving stuff in preparation for the bookcases. They will be in front of a power socket I was using so everything had to be plugged in at the opposite end of the room.
I am actually loving this studio as it comes together but I wasn't loving the mess I was drowning in, this should be a great solution. Fingers crossed.
Stay tuned!
