Practical Sewing

I'm down to the last 300 or so 3" squares from thousands that I've been sewing into quilts the last couple of years. I just want these used up now instead of junking up my studio! So I decided to make two scrappy kennel pads for our dogs. Today I finished piecing them and popped outside to spray baste them:

They each feature ten rows of ten squares, so they finish at about 25" square.
I also used scrappy binding on these and the backing fabric was from my destash priority pile. They turned out great.
I actually need to make a couple more of these within the next couple of weeks because we are constantly washing our current ones with a six month old puppy in the house, but two is a good start!
