Color Study Quilt Palette

This week I am studying an image of a banksia flower with a bee feeding. I took this photo earlier this year whilst hiking. So the quilt palette features mellow orange for the flower, sage green for the foliage and black for the bee's stripes!
This is a great 3 color palette because of the high contrast between the three colors:
But I prefer to add a white background fabric:
It is also a great palette to add another pop of color to! Here I tried it with aqua, purple and pink in my hexagon quilt example and each one looks great!
So this is a very versatile palette!
