It's my tenth year hosting an annual BOM!
There's three big things I like to reiterate every January:
These are fundamentals, get them sorted and you'll enjoy the FREE sew along opportunity soo much more.
And the background of that image is a hint about what block will be released first on Monday! It will be a relatively simple block.
Why? Because it can help people test their chosen palette. It also helps relative beginners to FPP warm up.
I also do this because it allows me more time to see which people in the group are genuinely planning to sew along and which people are not. If you can't keep up with the monthly BOM simple blocks that take only a few minutes to make, you will not keep up when the complex blocks that can take hours are released.
Remember: those not sewing along and sharing progress will be removed from the Facebook group regularly. The last BOM started with about 80 people and ended with about 30 two years later. I like a smaller group of committed sewists so that the vibe in the group is participatory and there are no lurkers.
