So far I've pieced nine rows of my 2024 scrap quilt. I started this project on December 27th, 2023, I didn't know what it would end up looking like, I just had several piles of 3" squares:
- Multicoloured
- Low volume
- Solids (in many colours)
So I just started making hexies and hexie flowers and once I had 7 hexie flowers made the first few rows came together.
I've really started to love hand piecing whilst watching TV during the past 3 weeks! I've done small projects in the past but this is already bigger than anything I've ever hand pieced.
I'm planning to make this a lap/throw quilt but it's evolving as I sew, so I guess we'll see how it goes!
