Do you nest your seams when joining quilt rows? I always found the hardest thing is remembering which way to press the seams for each row when I'm constructing the rows and pressing them. So I devised a technique:

Scissors pointing left |
I use the scissors as an arrow. When I bring the first row to the pressing bench I turn the scissors in the direction I will press the seams.

Scissors pointing right |
Then when I finish joining the next row of blocks and bring it to the pressing bench I can see which way the previous row was pressed. So I turn the scissors in the opposite direction and start pressing.
Once you get in a rhythm it's an easy habit and the scissors laying there reminds you to use them.

As I finish pressing the rows I hang them back on the design wall knowing that I won't need to take them back down to see which way they were pressed even if I get distracted.
