Retreats

I like to go on quilt retreats with the other ladies from my local quilt club, there are usually about 25 of us. Since I am driving for an hour to get there it is important that I pack enough stuff to make sure my time is productive.

What do I take?

  • UFOs, small projects
  • back up fabric and charm squares for 'on a whim' or run out of planned projects sewing
  • Water bottle, diet coke, snacks
  • my Google Nexus tablet and cell phone
  • scissors and thread snips
  • rotary cutter and blades
  • thread
  • bobbins
  • rulers
  • cutting mat
  • pins, safety pins
  • small waste basket
  • a fun vintage sewing machine or two, manual, power cords, pedal
  • extension cord and power board
  • un-picker
  • pen, pencil, notebook
  • quilt novel
  • small iron and small ironing pad or small ironing table

I take a different vintage machine to each retreat:

It is a lot of fun and a great way to get to know other people in the club.
