Orphan Block Odyssey Linky

This blue scrappy patch made up of 6 four patches was my choice for January. I thought it was kind of ugly until I started adding borders!

I decided to use a robot novelty print from my stash and use up some  light blue and navy blue fabrics leftover from other projects. So the final border was touch and go, I thought I would run out of fabric, but I made it work! It didn't get quilted this month but hopefully early spring I can spray baste it outside and get it quilted 😍

So upload any Instagram or blog link that features a project that used an orphan block it can be a past or present post, it is just fun to share!

  1. I don't have too many orphan blocks, but I'm sure there are more than I recall. FYI, orphan blocks are great for doll quilts!! There's a wonderful doll quilt drive https://needleandfoot.com/2018/02/01/spread-the-love-quilting-for-kids/. The tiny quilts are for A Doll Like me, which makes dolls for kids with limb differences. I've made several doll quilts using up orphan blocks. like this https://thatfabricfeeling.wordpress.com/2017/02/19/doll-quilts/#jp-carousel-68 Consider donating a tiny quilt this month and link it up here at the same time.

    1. Thanks so much for sharing the doll quilt drive information 😍
