A quick free charity quilt pattern

I made a charity quilt recently that was quick and easy. I didn't have a pattern for it, just an idea about how I wanted to highlight the novelty print and I only had a small amount of co-ordinating fabrics. Here it is:

It turned out great and I know beginners often like to work from a pattern even for 'quick and easy' quilts so I created a pattern because it is a great way of using novelty prints and fussy cut squares which means it is perfect for charity quilts. So there is a free beginners pattern in my Craftsy store now called Novelty 9 Patch:

You can obviously make it as big or small as you like but the pattern is for 4 blocks (+ borders) that contain 5" squares for the novelty fabric space.

  1. That is a wonderful pattern, such a good use of the special fabric!

  2. What a great use of novelty fabric and incorporating it in a charity quilt is a great idea! Very Nice!

  3. how I love that fabric you have used will keep my eyes open for some of that or is it from an old stash?
