A Block Finish!

Last week I blogged about some things that were inspiring me lately. One of those things is adult coloring page designs and one of my favorite artists is Johanna Basford. I had made a goal for 2016 to make a redwork style embroidery quilt. So I began to combine the two ideas and I printed Johanna's rabbit design onto fabric to embroider it. I chose turquoise and green threads predominantly. This is how it turned out:

I adore it and cannot wait to embroider her squirrel, fox and hedgehog! They will all probably go into a lap quilt ultimately but for now I just love embroidering them.

  1. I love this!!! Your color combination is perfect. I can see why you are having fun with this. Looking forward to seeing the addition of the other littler critters. :)

  2. Wonderful! I love the coloring books but never thought to purchase one since coloring is not my thing right now, even though I love the designs. Your embroidered piece is fantastic. Since I love to embroider I may find a "need" to add one of those coloring books to my craft book collection. Thank you for sharing your project.

  3. Reminds me of a Beatrix Potter story - what's your bunny's name? Your embroidery is delightful.
