After sewing together 162 four inch hexagons yesterday you'd think I'd have had enough and would've just made a simple border, but no I was eager to try 1 inch hexagon flowers. I did only have to sew together another 28 hexagons to make 4 flowers for my corners which was a relief!

I then appliqued the flowers onto a crosshatched burgundy and cream fabric that is used in the 4 inch hexagon quilt already.

I also decided to sew three long strips of leftover fabric together for the backing, which is done and ready to go, now I just need to buy some batting.
I also need some red machine quilting thread as the all purpose thread I have been trying to use up is just about finished.
I am not showing the quilt top laid out in all its glory as I am saving that for the 'big reveal' when I have my turn at being featured in the
Hexie Blog Hop next month.
