Hexie Half Quilt-a-long Project Finished!

I finally found the time to quilt and bind my half hexagon QAL project, it was hosted by:

It was a wonderful QAL with excellent easy to follow instructions, here is my quilt:

The backing is a simple pieced stripe

The quilting was straight lines through the corners and center of the hexagons

I am extremely pleased with the finished quilt and will definitely make more of these in different colors eventually!

I love my browns and greens, so earthy:)

I love a finished project!!!
And remember I made a linky yesterday to show off our ugliest fabric, there is still time to show off your stash's difficult pieces:

  1. Hey it looks great!! I got mine quilted but have not bound it yet. I will probably just use the leftover backing to make binding but I'm not sure yet. This really was a great pattern and I would like to make another one sometime as well, now that I know a little more about choosing and laying out the colors.

  4. This is fabulous. I worked with hexagons for the first time a month ago. All that insetting, this looks like a much better alternative. I like how you chose to quilt it. Stopping by from Anything Goes link party.

    1. Thanks and yes it was a little quicker because the halves are sewn together in rows, and in this case because the hexagons are so large, well worth a try and it can be done with just 4 fabrics but I have 10 in mine, so it can be simple or busy.

  5. Wow! Really beautiful photos of a beautiful quilt! I think my favorite is the second one that shows off the whole quilt and the quilting lines stand out so well. Wonderful job!
