Swap time !!!!

I participated in an eye spy charm swap recently that was run by: http://www.piecesbypolly.com/
Yesterday my parcel arrived with 200 eye spy squares and 100 Christmas squares, I LOVED this parcel!, it is the first fabric swap I have participated in:

The Christmas squares
The eye spy squares in bundles of 5, everything from animals and alphabets to cakes, dogs, sewing machines....
This pile is just the food related squares LOL
Today I spent some time making this tote bag out of the flying geese table runner I made a few months ago that was a bit long for my table and I was never really happy with it anyway, so I FMQed it and made it a bag:

My FMQ stitches are getting more even but I still need lots of practice!!!

I got this parcel from the Fat Quarter shop this week too, I love the spots!

And Teresa the Green Bag Lady gave me this at the volunteer bag sewing session last weekend and just had to show it off isn't it cute!

  1. What fun you must be having, looking through all those charms!

  2. I'm so glad your squares got there and you are enjoying them! It really does get addicting seeing all the fun prints.

I think your free motion quilting looks great. The first time I tried free-motion quilting that it is both easier and harder than it looks...the harder part for me is getting the stitches even.

  3. Awesome swap. Awesome tote. The little pink elephants on the fabric are darling. Glad the water bottle made your blog!

  4. It sure looks like you ended up with a lot of really cute squares! You've got some really great eye spy squares that will be sure to be interesting in the quilt you make! The broccoli square reminds me of eating at Sweet Tomatoes. They have large prints of vegetables on their walls. Your bag turned out really nice! I haven't even tried my hand at FMQ yet. Was very glad that you decided to join up at the bag sewing session!

  5. some lovely charms you have there, t is amazing how many different fabrics there are. The bag is very nice indeed and love the colours in it. Wonder what you plan for your charm fabrics, something superb no doubt.

  6. I love the colors of your tote. It is so cute. You did a great job, Marianne!
    Donna from Blackberry Winter Crafts.

  7. What fun all the scraps are!!! I'm googling: eye spy charm swap to find a swap to join.

    1. Yeah it was a wonderful swap! I am totally addicted to the idea of swapping now though LOL

  8. okay- that broccoli fabric just cracks me up! So much fun fabric! Love your bag as well, and your FMQ is looking great!

Thanks so much for sharing at Needle and Thread Thursday!
