Quilting buddies are fabulous people!

I visited my quilting friend Tami yesterday, it was the first time I had been to her place so I got the full sewing area tour which was great fun. Check out Tami's blog to see some of her great quilts:

I am currently working on Bonnie Hunter's Celtic Solstice mystery quilt. Before going to Tami's I had only sewn two test squares. And whilst I was there Tami helped me with a problem I was having.

It was obvious from those two squares that I was doing something wrong because I wasn't getting a full 1/4" seam allowance at the top, so my points would've been awful!

These are the rulers we are using for this challenge:

With the recs tool I wasn't cutting off the tiny tip of one corner - that is important to line up the seam correctly!

So this morning I was back at the cutting table cutting off all those tiny corners:

I also Finished cutting out the blue triangles that I hadn't cut, so i am ready to chain piece now, I just have to find the time!

I also started adding more fabric to my eye spy fabric pile this week thanks to a 20% off sale at Wooden Spools my favorite Denver fabric store; dinosaurs, ants and dogs.

And last night I made a gift bag for the gift exchange item I bought for an upcoming Christmas party:
