Blogiversary Linky

One year ago today I wrote my first blog post for this quilt blog!
Here is a link to that post:
My quilting skills have come a long way in that 12 months and so has my stash... and my sewing machine collection! I took my first quilt classes, I've now done 5. I joined the Green Bag Lady Project. I found a favorite fabric shop and also began buying fabric online oops that's dangerous for the credit card. I joined my first quilt club which is awesome. I made amazing quilting friends through blogging like who got me interested in joining the Green Bag Lady Project and with whom I swap fabrics and share experiences as we learn to quilt and blog together and there are many more. I discovered how fun thrift shopping can be and found soooo many great vintage sewing machines.

Here's just a couple of pics to show the year that was:

A memory quilt for the in-laws

scrappy improv to use up scraps

I fell in love with paper piecing

A tribute to my canine kids

I decided I adore simple geometric quilts

A gift for a friend

A gift for my brother - the VW beetle pattern I designed is available on Craftsy

A project for a local school that I used to work at

Hexagons! I love em but they are tedious to sew!

A chair bag cover and my treadle

The Craigslist fabric stash acquisition and wash-a-thon

Organizing the $50 Craigslist fabric was a big job it took about 3 days, I am still using fabric I bought that day!!!

50c quilt blocks bought in a thrift store made a great car quilt

Tula Pink City Sampler still a WIP

Americana quilt

Emma the quilt I made as part of the Michele Foster quilt along

Herringbones were my favorite block discovery of 2013

Broncos made the superbowl so I had to make a quilt!

CRQC challenge quilt for the upcoming show

Dog jackets became my 'thing' in 2013

The dogs decided they love scraps

so scrappy dog jackets seem perfect for them

My eye spy obsession began!

More paper piecing

More scrappy projects like ipad pockets

Scrappy stripes QAYG

Triangles for a friend and a thrifty shirt quilt for me

Another simple geometric quilt I love is tumblers

And I took a class at my favorite quilt shop and made an awesome bag.
Sometimes I feel like I am not achieving anything in the sewing room due to life's other distractions.... but apparently I am getting stuff done!

What have you achieved in the last 12 months?

  1. I haven't achieved near as much as you have this last year. You have really made some beautiful things! I guess I need to get off the computer and spend my time sewing some quilts instead of looking looking at what others have made!

  2. I cannot believe how much you have done!!!! Awesome, amazing, keep it up!

  3. ⁀‵⁀ ✫ ✫ ✫. ⁀‵⁀ ✫¸.•°*”˜˜”*°•✫ ..✫¸.•°*”˜˜”*°•.✫ ☻ ღ˚ •。* ˚ ˚✰˚ ˛★* 。 ღ˛° 。* ° ˚ • ★ *˚ .ღ *˛˚ღ •˚ CoNgRaTuLaTiOnS!!! ˚ ✰* ★

  4. My goodness, that's lifetime worth of accomplishments in only one year!

  5. I am amazed at all you have made this last year, some lovely quilts, dog jackets etc and such a variety too.

  6. Marianne, can you believe it's been a year! Reading through your post was like walking down memory lane with an ol' friend. I too am grateful for our blogging friendship. Smiles! My anniversary date is Thursday and I will post about it too and return to link up! Great idea!
