I have made my first scrappy house quilt top:
|
Paper pieced blocks |
I commit to making two scrappy quilts per year to make sure my scrap bin doesn't get out of control. I actually probably make more like 4 per year, because I can't stand an overflowing scrap bin! All the house fabric was from my scrap bin, the sky fabric is mostly old worn out work shirts of my husbands and a few scraps. And the border fabric was a piece of old curtain from
the $50 Craigslist stash and I have enough of that to use for binding as well.

Layout is always tricky with scraps, pretty soon I give up trying to get it perfect LOL |
|
I added a 3 inch border in blue gingham print that I used for some of the sky |
It's ironed ready to baste and quilt.
I plan to make another of these tops, because there are plenty of scraps left, the 2nd one will probably be a charity quilt. I thought two lap quilts would be better than one big quilt.
